Detailed Hands-On Testing Review

Design

Measuring just 24.5cm wide, the Rivelia is remarkably compact for a bean-to-cup machine. The modular bean canister system allows you to twist and lift off one hopper to swap in another without wasting beans.

Ease of use

The 3.5-inch color display is snappy and remembers who drinks what at different times of day. Selecting a double flat white requires just two taps.

Coffee quality

The 13-stage conical burr grinder extracts thick, hazelnut-hued crema with medium and dark roasts. The extraction temperature is consistent from the first cup to the fourth.

Milk performance

The LatteCrema Hot system injects the right proportion of steam and air to create silky microfoam. It handles oat, almond, and whole cow's milk with equal finesse.

Cleaning

After every milk drink, the machine prompts a quick dial turn on the lid to blast the spout with boiling water. The brew unit unclips easily from behind the water tank.

Noise

The sound-insulated bean hopper lid significantly dampens the grinder hum, making it one of the quietest machines in its class.

Running cost

At roughly 15p–25p per cup using fresh specialty beans, the Rivelia will pay for itself within 9–12 months compared to high-street takeaway coffees.

Who Should Buy It

  • Households who drink both caffeinated and decaf coffee
  • Latte and flat white drinkers who want velvety milk without steaming manually
  • Buyers with limited kitchen worktop depth who want a neat, modern aesthetic

Who Should Avoid It

  • Coffee hobbyists who enjoy weighing doses and dialling in 58mm manual baskets
  • Shoppers with a strict sub-£300 budget
